March 20, 2016 - Update

To All Parents:

We are tracking the forecast for tomorrow, and it appears that the snow will not make it to the area until later tomorrow.  Temperatures will be around 41-43 degrees for most of the day.

While not ideal [would love it to be 70 and sunny], we do not want to take away the playing for tomorrow, and not offer anything (kids in school still go out to recess in this kind of weather).  Its only a practice, not a full game – and we will not go the entire session.  Next week, we will also have practices (no regular season games).

If parents are uncomfortable sending their children outside tomorrow, we understand.  But we are offering it as scheduled.

Two exceptions – There will not be any 3rd/4th/5th/6th girls practice (as many girls won’t be there this Sunday), and there will NOT be any Boys 5th/6th/7th practice either (as it will start to get cooler and closer to snow at 5 PM).

One time change – Boys 3rd/4th grade will be moved up to 2:30 PM, so that it will be a drop warmer as well.

Schedule for Tomorrow - Sunday, March 20 (Is also be posted on the league website later tonight):

11:30 AM – All Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd Grade Girls – Cornwell Field #2

3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th Grade Girls – No Practice

1:15 PM –1st & 2nd  Grade Boys – Meet by Cornwell Field #2.  Will be using both fields.

2:30 PM – 3rd & 4th  Grade Boys – Meet by Cornwell Field #2.  Will be using both fields. [NOTE THE TIME CHANGE]

5th, 6th & 7th  Grade Boys – No Practice

Cornwell Field #2 is the field closest to the parking lot.  Cornwell Field #1 is the field closest to Hempstead Ave.  All fields are located on Hempstead Ave. & Cornwell Ave.  Please see the league website for more directions and a map, if needed.

Please dress warm obviously, and bring your gloves.

All coaches – please arrive 15 minutes early so that we can set up properly, and set up for the practices.  All coaches must come tomorrow.  Thank you.

Also – coaches, or ANY parents – Ari Herskovits is asking for 2-3 volunteers at 11 AM to move the equipment from the Young Israel of West Hempstead to his car. Can we please get 2 volunteers at that time ?  If you are available, please help us …  One mitzvah will be awarded.

The blog and website will also be updated shortly.  Typically, we won’t be sending out these e-mails for rain, but the first day, we made an exception !

Looking forward to tomorrow !!

Regards,

Ariel
